Our Annual Fundraiser Event: Mutts Party!

For the third consecutive year the A.H.P.P.A. annual event, Mutts Party! will be held on Saturday March 24th 2012 at the lovely venue: Zamora Estate in Santa Ana, Costa Rica.

Our Mutts Party! is the fund raiser event specifically for our Spay & Neuter Program. Join us for an afternoon of fun, meeting old friends and making new ones, all whom share a passion for the well-being of animals and appreciate the dire necessity of spay and neutering of animals in Costa Rica.

A scrumptious luncheon will be served along with wine and beer or your soft beverage of choice. Thanks to the generous support of local businesses, artists and designers, a live auction, emceed by the always dynamic and ever entertaining duo, Lisa & Tom, will commence following the luncheon.

Tickets for Mutts Party! event are $100 per person. Proceeds go directly to

Garage Sale Event: Saturdays 10 am – 2 pm

Garage Sale and animals…what a great way to spend a Saturday! Join us at the Refugio, the AHPPA animal shelter in San Rafael de Heredia, Costa Rica.  Stroll through the shelter grounds, meet some of our staff and volunteers who wash and walk the dogs, clean cages (to give Don Victor some help) and have a great time.

Visit with the animals…they love the attention. Then browse through our garage sale, you never know what little gem you might find. We have lots of  clothing items…quality used clothes and shoes for both men and women. And kids. (though we always need more) Are you an avid reader? You’ll discover loads of books, too. What else? Knick-nacks, paddy whacks…give your dog a bone! (Stop by our Pet Shop and pick up a special treat for your pet).

Animal Shelter Garage Sale Hours:  10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Come by and say hola! to our staff of volunteers.  Every penny or dollar or colones spent goes, 100%, to the Refugio animal shelter.

Got stuff to donate for the Refugio Garage Sale? We’re looking for:

• small working appliances
• childrens clothes
• toys in good shape
• quality clothes – no rips, no stains please
• hangers
• sheets, bedding, blankets in good condition
• kitchen ware
• small tools
• CDs and DVDs
• home decor items (no trash please)

Please use our contact form with questions or to donate items; if you include your phone number, please note best time to call. We can arrange for pick up if within a 25 mile radius. Or you can drop your donations at the Refugio animal shelter Pet Shop Monday through Saturday.
